BC Housing is committed to building a continuum of new housing in Kelowna in partnership with the City of Kelowna, Interior Health, the Journey Home Society and local housing and service providers. At the moment, there are over 350 units of new housing under construction, in development or in proposal for Kelowna - approximately 250 affordable rental apartments, 87 new homes with supports, and 40 second stage homes for women and families fleeing violence. That is in addition to over 200 new affordable rental homes and homes with supports that have opened since 2019.

BC Housing is planning for the redevelopment of 1451 and 1469 Bertram Street, in downtown Kelowna. The focus of the redevelopment is to create urgently needed new affordable non-market and market rental housing for seniors, couples, individuals and families. No supportive housing would be built on this site.
BC Housing is proposing to develop Phase ll of the Pleasantvale neighbourhood. The proposal is to build 68 new rental homes for people with low to moderate incomes. This would include 20 townhomes for families and individuals and 48 apartments for seniors. No supportive housing would be built on this site.
BC Housing, the City of Kelowna and Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Kelowna are working together to provide urgently needed homes with supports for people experiencing homelessness in Kelowna at 1055/1063 Ellis Street.
These new homes will respond to recommendations made through the Journey Home Strategy, which includes focusing on priority populations such as youth 19 – 24, and providing housing with a person-centered approach that meets people where they are at to help them thrive.
