Salmon Arm - 540 3 Street SW - Supportive Housing

BC Housing and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) have partnered to provide 38 new studio units with supports to help people experiencing homelessness in accessing safe, secure housing. Cedar Place is located at 540 3 St SW in Salmon Arm. Each of the 38 furnished, studio homes has a 3-piece washroom and kitchenette.Also included, a common-area dining room, indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, programming space and a secure storage area for personal possessions.
Canadian Mental Health Association – Shuswap / Revelstoke Branch (CMHA) will own the land and operate the housing. They have operated and provided services in Salmon Arm since 1983.
We expect to begin moving people in November 2021.
Community Advisory Committee
A Community Advisory Committee (CAC) with representatives from Turning Points, BC Housing, community organizations and community members is being created. The purpose of CAC is to provide the project team and a broad cross-section of the community with a way to:
- Build and maintain positive community, building operator and program partner relationships.
- Encourage information sharing and dialogue.
- Identify opportunities and resolve any concerns related to the building.
