BC Housing is working in partnership with the City of Abbotsford and Archway Community Services on a proposal to build 40-50 new supportive homes at 2661-2671 Gladys Avenue in Abbotsford.
More supportive homes are urgently needed in Abbotsford. The latest Point-in-Time Count, conducted in October 2024, identified 465 people experiencing homelessness in the community.
The City of Abbotsford owns the site and would lease the land to BC Housing. This project would require a Development Permit and Housing Agreement. We are currently expecting the City to consider these applications in fall 2025.
Supportive Housing
The new building would provide 40–50 studio homes for people from the Abbotsford area. These homes would be for seniors, people with disabilities, and others who need support services to maintain stable housing. All residents would pay rent and sign a residential tenancy agreement.
Support services would include:
24/7 staffing
Daily meals
Life skills and employment training
Connection and referral to community services or support groups
Operator
Archway Community Services would manage the building and provide services to the residents.
Archway is a non-profit housing operator that has a long history of providing community-based social services in Abbotsford. They are the operator of Hearthstone Place, the existing supportive housing building adjacent to the proposed site.

A caring community can contribute greatly to the success of supportive housing residents. We will keep lines of communication open throughout this project.
We are currently expecting to the community again in fall 2025. At this time, we will offer opportunities to ask questions and share ideas on how to set this housing and its residents up for success in the community.
