Aerial view showing the location of Hearthstone Place near George Ferguson Way and Gladys Avenue.

Location of the proposed supportive housing.

Project Overview

BC Housing, the City of Abbotsford and Archway Community Services are building 48 new homes at 2661-2671 Gladys Avenue.

The residential apartment building will include:

  • 48 studio homes with support services (supportive housing)
  • Indoor and outdoor common areas
  • Central kitchen and laundry facilities
  • Reception area and office space for staff
  • Fenced grounds with on-site parking

The City of Abbotsford owns the site and will lease the land to BC Housing.

Supportive Housing

Supportive housing is subsidized housing with on-site supports. Residents are single adults (19+) who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. This can include seniors and people with disabilities.

All residents apply to live in supportive housing, sign program agreements and pay rent.

Typical supports include:

  • 24/7 staffing
  • Daily meals
  • Life skills and employment training
  • Access to health supports
  • Connections to community services or support groups

To learn more, check out our Stories from Supportive Housing playlist on YouTube. These short videos show inside several supportive housing buildings. They also share stories from residents, staff and neighbours.

Operator

BC Housing selected Archway Community Services to operate this building. Staff will manage the building and provide services to the guests.

Archway has operated Hearthstone Place supportive housing (2719 Gladys Ave.) since it opened in 2017.
