BC Housing, Beedie Foundation and the YWCA Metro Vancouver is partnering to provide approximately 56 affordable homes for women and children at 4803 Canada Way.

The proposed 56 affordable homes would provide two and three-bedroom apartments, including three accessible and eight adaptable apartments. The building would be managed by the YWCA Metro Vancouver, and include an underground parkade for residents, onsite amenity space, a daycare and outdoor play area for residents and their children.

Operator

The YWCA Metro Vancouver will facilitate operations of the building and daycare space. For 125 years, YWCA Metro Vancouver has been supporting women and families as they pursue their dreams and goals. Their programming including, housing, single mother’s support programs and employment initiatives have been a foundation in (Metro) Vancouver communities since their inception in 1897 and work with individuals, municipalities and partners to make a positive difference for women.

The virtual open house has been cancelled due to low registration; however, BC Housing, Beedie Foundation and the YWCA Metro Vancouver do still want to answer any questions you may have and listen to your feedback.

The rezoning for this project was passed by Burnaby City Council on March 29, 2022.

  • Will the housing be open to single women with no children
