Abbotsford – Lonzo Road Shelter

Lonzo Road Shelter in Abbotsford. Wooden steps and large accessabilty ramp.

BC Housing has built a 50-bed shelter at 34520 Lonzo Road in Abbotsford. This project is part of a larger plan to create more permanent supportive homes in the area.

The new shelter at Lonzo Road is replacing the shelter at 1640 Riverside Road. This allows us to build 61 new, permanent supportive homes on the Riverside Road property.

About the Site

The land at Lonzo Road and Sumas Way is owned by the B.C. Transportation Financing Authority and licensed to BC Housing.

Outreach workers have connected with people who are sheltering on this lot to offer other shelter options and moving supports. Throughout this process, BC Housing and our partners used a healing-informed approach that centres peoples’ health, safety and individual needs.
