Affordable Housing for Seniors

BC Housing is planning for the rezoning of 22534, 22548 and 22556 Royal Crescent in Maple Ridge to build 98 urgently needed new affordable rental homes for seniors.

This site on Royal Crescent has hosted temporary supportive homes for several years. We thank the community for supporting this urgent response to help people experiencing homelessness in the local area.Rendering of proposed project in Maple Ridge subject to developm

We are also pleased to share that 52 new permanent supportive homes are now under construction at Fraser Street and 224th Street in Maple Ridge. We currently expect this building to be ready in early 2024 and Royal Crescent residents to move in shortly after that. Once the temporary homes on Royal Crescent are empty, we will remove the modular units from the site.

Seniors’ housing operator

In April 2023, BC Housing selected New Vista Society through a fair and open process to develop a Community Housing Fund (CHF) proposal to build seniors’ housing on the Royal Crescent site. In March 2024, New Vista Society was successful in this proposal. The land will be leased to New Vista and they will develop, own and operate the seniors' housing.

This project is still in the very early stages of planning and rezoning. Please continue checking this page for updates. If you have any questions about the project, please email communityrelations@bchousing.org.
