Consultation has concluded


The City of Surrey and the Province have committed to building 250 permanent supportive housing units to address the city’s urgent need for housing with supports for people experiencing homelessness.

The new permanent housing will help transition people who are currently living in temporary modular homes in central Surrey.

In June 2018, a coordinated effort involving 12 organizations helped to relocate more than 200 people who were experiencing homelessness and staying on 135A street, into new temporary accommodation units.

Now, the Province has identified two locations for approximately 98 permanent supportive homes. To learn more about the proposed sites, visit

    People experiencing homelessness in Surrey may soon have a permanent home with supports to help them rebuild their lives.

    The Province has submitted a rezoning application to the City of Surrey for 38 permanent supportive homes. This is the first permanent site to be selected by Surrey as part of the commitment made by the Province to work in partnership with the city to deliver 250 supportive modular homes in Surrey.
