The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased the 32-room Single Room Occupancy property at 1012 Main Street and 956 Main Street as part of a long-term plan to provide safe homes with supports as BC Housing and the City of Vancouver take collective action to address the critical needs of people experiencing homelessness in Vancouver.

No operator for the property has been selected yet. The supportive housing services to be provided will include supports such as meals, connection to health services, income assistance and other client focused services. The property will have 24/7 staffing to provide security to residents of the building and the surrounding neighbourhood.

BC Housing is engaging with the community through the online Let’s Talk tool below and invite the community to learn more about the project and address questions that neighbours may have about supportive housing being operated at this site. Questions and comments can also be sent to: communityrelations@bchousing.org
