Vancouver – 103 East Hastings

The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased the 16-room property at 103 East Hastings Street as part of a long-term plan to provide safe homes with supports as BC Housing and the City of Vancouver take collective action to address the critical needs of people experiencing homelessness in Vancouver. The Government of Canada is providing funding for this project through the Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI), an initiative of the National Housing Strategy.
BC Housing is currently leasing the property at 103 East Hastings as part of the strategy to prevent the spread of COVID-19 with PHS Community Services Society operating the supportive housing. PHS Community Services Society will continue to operate the building, which includes providing supports such as meals, connection to health services, laundry and tenant focusses services. The site will continue to have 24/7 staffing to provide security to residents of the building and the surrounding neighbourhood.
BC Housing is engaging with the community through the online Let’s Talk tool below and invite the community to learn more about the project and address questions that neighbours may have about supportive housing being operated at the site.
