Vernon – 3201 24th Avenue
Project Overview
BC Housing and Turning Points Collaborative Society are building 48 new homes at 3201 24th Avenue.
The 5-storey residential apartment building will include:
- 48 studio and 1-bedroom homes with support services (supportive housing)
- Indoor and outdoor common areas
- Central kitchen and laundry facilities
- Reception area and office space for staff
- Fenced grounds and on-site parking
Since 2022, Turning Points has operated 28 supportive homes in the building. In March 2026, BC Housing will begin demolishing the motel and clearing the site for the new supportive housing.
Supportive Housing
Supportive housing is subsidized housing with on-site supports. Residents are adults (19+) who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness and in need of support services to maintain housing. This can include seniors and people with disabilities.
All residents apply to live in supportive housing, sign program agreements and pay rent.
Typical supports include:
- 24/7 staffing
- Daily meals
- Life skills and employment training
- Access to health supports
- Connections to community services
A community‑based assessment process is used to match people with supportive housing. This process considers each person’s individual needs, their current housing situation, and the types of support they require to live safely and successfully in housing.
To learn more, check out our Stories from Supportive Housing playlist on YouTube. These short videos show inside several supportive housing buildings. They also share stories from residents, staff and neighbours.
Operator
BC Housing has selected Turning Points Collaborative Society to operate the building. Staff will manage the building and provide support services to residents.
