Capital Region
Creating safe, secure and permanent homes for people at risk of homelessness in the Capital region
We are excited to announce that the Province, through BC Housing, is moving forward with six new supportive housing projects that will deliver over 280 permanent supportive homes for people experiencing homelessness in the Capital region. These new supportive homes are part of the Province’s long-term plans to address homelessness through a pathway to permanent housing. The six new supportive housing projects are spread across three communities: City of Victoria, District of Central Saanich and the District of Saanich, working closely with the Capital Regional District.
These homes will be available to people who are currently staying in temporarily leased hotel sites, as well as those currently experiencing homelessness, precariously housed, or couch surfing. These new homes will help ensure that appropriate and permanent supportive housing options will be available when the temporary leased hotel spaces in Victoria are no longer an option.
Community Engagement
There will be the opportunity for the community to be involved and provide feedback through the project Let’s Talk pages, and through neighbourhood dialogue sessions that will be listed on the project pages.
