West Kelowna Temporary Shelter - 2515 Bartley Road

The site at Bartley Road provides a temporary modular shelter for those at risk of, or experiencing homelessness, in West Kelowna. This shelter provides safe, secure homes. These are modular units to give guests private, secure, and safe rooms.

Operator

The Bartley Road Shelter is operated by Turning Points. Turning Points has been operating in the Okanagan for over 50 years providing housing, programming, and services for people at risk and/or experiencing homelessness.

Turning Points staff are on site 24/7 supporting guests and managing operations. They provide guests with:

  • meals
  • storage space
  • wellness checks
  • referrals to community services
  • other supports

Community Advisory Committee

A Community Advisory Committee (CAC) with representatives from Turning Points, BC Housing, community organizations and community members, has been created. The purpose of the CAC is to provide the project team and a broad cross-section of the community with a mechanism to:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships amongst the community, the building operators and the program partners.
  • Facilitate information sharing and dialogue.
  • Identify and resolve any opportunities and concerns related to the building.

  • Do you accept donations of physical goods (toiletries, towels, bedding, other)? I have a several unused soaps/shampoos/conditions from hotels that I could drop off if they would be useful.

    Thank you for your inquiry. This temporary shelter, located at 2515 Bartley Road, provides up to 42 safe, secure homes for people experiencing homelessness in West Kelowna.  As the only shelter in West Kelowna, Bartley Road provides residents with temporary housing until a longer-term solution is in place.
